Johan Bark is a theatre director, educator and producer from Västerås, Sweden.
Directing, producing and other professional engagements in the arts combined, Johan has been professionally involved in the creative industry in Sweden, Ireland, France, England, Scotland, the US and Portugal, either producing independent work for international touring and performance, or collaborating with established companies.
Johan holds a Masters in Fine Arts in Theatre Directing with Distinction from The Lir National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Dublin, Ireland, part of Trinity College.
Additionally, Johan has a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in European Theatre Arts from Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, London, UK.
As part of this course, Johan did a three month placement at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Tallinn.
In 2020, Johan was awarded both the Västerås City Culture Grant, and the Västmanland Region Culture Grant, in his native Sweden.
On the side of his theatre directing credits, Johan is an active educator and has taught theatre and performance at Rose Bruford College (UK), Calle Flygare Teaterskola, Kulturama, Balettakademien, Enskedespelet and youth programs for Västerås Stad, Teater Carpa and Växhuset (all SWE).
